The Grand WEGA TV's image is created by three 0.73” LCD chips with a combined resolution of over 2.76 million pixels. The light from its high-output UHP lamp shines through the filtering system, splitting the beam into red, green and blue light.

Each colour shines through its own LCD chip, which passes or blocks the light. The beams are then instantaneously recombined and sent to the projection lens. The result is a sharper, brighter, and higher resolution image than previous big screen TVs.

The Sony WEGA Engine and 3LCD system work together to provide exceptional picture quality. Thanks to its revolutionary optical engine, the Grand WEGA HDTV is also much slimmer and lighter than conventional projection sets.
