1.HOW TO ENTER: No purchase necessary. The contest commences on July 9, 2009 and ends with entries submitted on or before 11:59 p.m. (ET) December 31, 2009 (the “Contest Closing Date”). To enter, either visit any Sony Style store and go to the dedicated VAIO laptop with the URL www.sonystyle.ca/tellushowwedid set up for entry OR enter that URL online at home. Enter online by clicking on the “Take our survey ” link at the URL address indicated above and completing the brief survey. Submit your completed entry form.
2.ONLINE PLAY: Sony of Canada Ltd. (“Sony”) is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems or servers, computer software problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website and assumes no liability for damage to entrant’s or any person’s computer resulting from participating in the game. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address at time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an internet service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the e-mail address in question. Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed, or other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sony reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
3.CONTEST DRAW: Winners will be selected from among all eligible entries received in a random draw conducted by Sony of Canada Ltd. at 3:00 p.m. in Toronto, Ontario on January 13, 2010. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible online entries received on or before the Contest Closing Date.
4.PRIZE: There will be six prizes awarded from among all eligible entries received on or before the Contest Closing Date. The Grand Prize consists of one $500 Sony Style Gift Card. The five secondary prizes each consist of one $100.00 Sony Style Gift Card. Sony Style Gift Cards cannot be use for purchases made online at www.sonystyle.ca. Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable or convertible to cash. No substitutions except at Sony’s option. Sony reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component for one of equal or greater value.
In order to be declared a winner, selected entrant must have completed the survey and correctly answered the skill-testing question at time of entry and will be required to sign and return a standard declaration and release form releasing Sony and its affiliates from any and all claims or causes of action arising out of entrant’s participation in the Contest and receipt or use of any prize, confirming compliance with the contest rules, accepting the prize as awarded and consenting to the use of his or her name, without compensation, in any future publicity carried out by Sony in connection with this contest, within 10 business days of notification. Selected entrants will be notified by telephone. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted by telephone within 5 days of the draw date, fails to return the contest documents within the specified time or declines the prize, he/she will forfeit the prize and an alternate entrant will be randomly selected. Prize may be picked up at a Sony Style store selected by the confirmed winner within 4 weeks of being declared a winner.
5.ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open to residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence excluding employees and persons with whom they are domiciled of Sony of Canada Ltd., its affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies and the independent judging organization. Limit: one entry per person per contest.
6.GENERAL: This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. By entering the contest, participants agree to be bound by these rules and by the decisions of the contest judges, which shall be final on all matters relating to this contest. All entries become the property of Sony and none will be returned. Sony reserves the right to withdraw, terminate or modify this contest or any portion of this contest, or extend the deadline of this contest, at any time without prior notice. Sony assumes no responsibility for lost, delayed, or misdirected entries. 7.FOR RESIDENTS OF QUEBEC, any litigation concerning the conduct or administration of this publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation concerning the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
